Woodland and Main Streets

condos

« Previous   Main  Next »

On this side of the fence is Loaves & Fishes, one of Nashville's most popular (or - I should say, most populated) soup kitchens. Each Monday and Wednesday they serve lunch to somewhere between one hundred fifty and two hundred hungry people. A good many of them gather in the yard here where I'm standing and wait for the doors to be unlocked on those days.

What's worrisome is the new high-rise condo-type apartment building that's going up across the street. Maybe I'm wrong, but it doesn't look at all like affordable housing. Unless it's associated with say... United Way or the Catholic church, then I expect there's already been talk of how best to 'clean up' the view. More on this as I find it.

Sadly, that sounds like the Sesame Street conundrum. One of these things belongs with the other one, one of these things is not the same.....
